The main reason that collectors don't want their rare chips on the ChipGuide is because if the chip is NOT on the ChipGuide they think that they will get a better price for it when they sell it. So it is greed that is driving the decision. My thinking is that if the chip is on the ChipGuide, it means that you can be fairly certain of its providence, meaning if it is a real casino issued chip or not. And that should help get a better price.
