So... I have an update on in-use/not-in-use chips

At The Orleans. First off, the poker room only uses the $2 chip as a drop chip, but the rake is $5 so they actually drop 2 $2 chips and 1 $1 chip.

Moreover, they use the $2 chip in several games, so $2 chips are simple to get, but they all tend to be rather worn.

They have removed the $3 and $4 drop chips, but they are in storage in case they change the rack or need them for a different game. And no, they are not available from either cage (poker room and main).

In another interesting move, a while back casino management decided to remove from play all brown (ochre) $1 chips and use the then newer hot-stamp $1 chips at the poker room and the inlaid silver $1 chips at the main floor table games.

In the beginning they tried to keep the 2 silver versions separate, but pretty soon both version were mixed together at table games and the poker room. Recently, instead of doing a chip reorder to refill a dwindling quantity of silver $1 chips, they opted to move all of the silver $1 chips to the table games, and bring back all of the brown $1 chips and use them exclusively at the poker room. This was done as a cost savings measure by avoiding buying new chips.
