Pam, I feel bad for your bad experience! Jeff L has left us with documentation where nitrous-based dice is the culpret. Acetate-based dice is not. At least that is how I recall his research.
In any event, newer dice do not have this chemical reaction, and I store/display such newer dice in PVC-free, PET clamshells that are intendended for wax candle scents manufacturing and packaging.
The clamshell is actually a multiple of cube molds for for pouring and molding small amounts of scented was to be diffused into batches of plain candle wax to make scented candles.
These molds do come in several cube quantities and sizes, and once both halves are folded to for the molds, one side has space to include a data sheet for the wax scents, or casino labelling of the dice.
Since I have a stick of 5 Tropicana dice, that came in the original foil wrapper, I have refoldeed the wrapper and placed it where the data card would go.
The package is sealed, and can be displayed on a pegboard surface with hangers, or in boxes. These are readilly available on Amazon and elsewhere. And, not too expensive.
