Reno - new gaming venue downtown ... eventually

Here's an extensive article about the future of shuttered Harrah's-Reno downtown.

If you don't want to wade through all of it, here's the Cliff's notes version:
Harrah's Reno downtown closed its doors some time ago. sad
They tried to revive it as mixed-use, calling it "Reno City Center". Ultimately, not finished & filed for bankruptcy. Now some new / some old group of developers renamed project "Revival" and are having another go at it.

Of interest to chippers, they are planning gambling, maybe even live tables?, from one part of the group of operators named Fine. They will operate an area inside, to be known as "The Mint". To quote the article:

"The Mint, which includes the Mint Bar, is located on the former casino floor and will include about 6,000 square feet of gaming space.

Fine confirmed that those plans remain, including the proposed gambling operation. The company received approval for a non-restricted gaming license from the Nevada Gaming Commission and the Reno City Council in 2023."

With a NON-RESTRICTED LICENSE, that should allow for live gaming at some point in the future. Let's hope so. Downtown Reno could use a shot in the arm, IMO. grin
