Re: An interesting deck of casino playing cards...

Reno 1990! View from Eldorado to start, then a walk down the street and, in and out of a few casinos. https://youtu.be/WOYaq7EeahM?si=SUwbbutL3U_Fnpdu

The video was a small handheld Sony 8mm video camera. This is BCP (before cell phones) grin Cameras were seriously discouraged in casinos. Heck I remember in 1998 taking a shot inside a casino and the security people were all over me, reminding me, that isn't allowed. So much for the good old days, we have that part better now.

I just about wore out a pair of shoes, walking between casinos for all the Freebees. I wasn't much of a chip collector, just started, and even that trip, nothing but Keno tickets, tokens and free stuff. I didn't understand Craps and didn't play Blackjack. I had a load of free popcorn, hotdogs, a towel and pen and keychain. That's just what I remember.

I don't recall Fitzgerald's being owned by the same company? That was Fitzgerald's Corporation. Maybe the casinos all used them as a promotion. Back then getting the Annual ABC Bowling tournament was a city by city, bid. Reno made a deal to host, every other year at the convention center. Although my memory of that might be mistaken, because Las Vegas also hosted many years. It might have been every 4th year?

Reno was fun and enjoyable back then. I didn't take many photos, but one of my favorite places, was the Riverboat (?) because it had a seafood and oyster bar. Across the street from Eldorado was Ethyl M Chocolates. Last time we went there, just so we could go somewhere besides Las Vegas, was maybe 2004. We stayed at the Atlantis and I don't recall if we even got out of the car downtown, just a drive by.
