The Saratoga Springs History Museum (located in the former Canfield Casino) is closed in the winter. I will stop by when they re-open in March and ask if they know the actual transfer date of the casino to Canfield in 1894 from his two partners. A date in April would make sense for an ownership change since most of the Saratoga casinos were closed in the winter just like the museum and a new owner would want to take over before the busy summer months.
