You probably know the story, but here goes ...

These $5 chip/tokens were made by Harrah's maintenance department, with the metal ring crafted to encircle the $5 chip. All for use in a special $5 slot machine that Harrah's added to their slot floor in Reno.

For their day, that was a pretty large denomination for slots, as the most common slots then were nickels and quarters. Bill Harrah was quite a gaming brain-child in his day!

Condition on these always shows some, or a lot, of wear, as they cycled through the machines.
