Who is General Torrijos of Panama?
Torrijos is best known for negotiating the 1977 Torrijos–Carter Treaties that eventually gave Panama full sovereignty over the Panama Canal. The two treaties guaranteed that Panama would gain control of the Panama Canal after 1999, ending the control of the canal that the U.S. had exercised since 1903.

I was stationed in Panama during the Torrijos regime and enjoyed meeting the Minister Of Gambling Ector Torrijos -- who helped me collected these sweet chips from several of the casinos located in the capital city of Panama City. I have quite a collection of these chips that I was able get as being the ministers friend while living in the Republic Of Panama. That was during the Carter days.
Today, the country is led by a democratic government and the city has undergone fantastic growth and prosperity as a democracy.

Just a few chips to show, but these were from the days when the Torrijos family nationalized all the thriving and profitable casinos and gave the profits to the very poor in the country that was very popular with the population.
