I was living in Reno in the late 60s early 70s when I started
collecting chips. I didn’t know anything about molds but I
noticed many of the joints had chips with little crowns embedded
in them including the Palace, New China, Nevada Club, Harrah’s,
Mapes, Riverside, Primm, and Overland where I worked. The
first chip I ever collected was a small crown purple 50 chip from
the Primm. They were easy to handle on the dice table and
good for drop-cutting.
