Many casinos used silver dollars for $1 bets on the tables. That was until 1964 when silver was removed from circulating coins and silver coins became worth more than face value. But there were some casinos that used $1 chips prior to 1964. The Bank-Palace Club $1 chip, issued in 1931, might be the first one used in Nevada.
