Hello, everyone. This will come as a shock to none of you, but I would very much like to be the next CCA President, and to that end, I seek your nomination and of course, your vote at election time. My platform is pretty simple (with much to do behind the scenes):
* Modernize our presence
* Expand our presence
* Appeal to younger generations of collectors
* Provide greater value for dues-paying members
* Provide incentives for becoming members
* Increase communication from leadership (from me in particular)
* Eliminate (or at least reduce) vitriol from club members, no matter where it occurs
Some initial action items include:
* Inventory all club assets and donor instructions
* Determine whether club magazine remains hardcopy or goes electronic
* Clarify the relationship of the MOGH to the CCA and set clear goals
* Create and maintain transparent metrics (membership numbers, expenses, YOY P&L, etc)
* Unify online club assets (website, forums, MOGH/chip guide).
My resume/CV:
* I have owned and operated an internet services company for nearly 30 years, mostly built through the acquisition of 21 smaller companies over the years. I'm a nerd with an eye for business.
* I have been a volunteer at every CCA convention since becoming a member.
* I represented the CCA at the SNCCC fall show and will be doing the same at the January FUN (coin) show in Florida.
* All of my volunteer CCA efforts have been at my own expense, including airfare, hotel, car rental, etc. I did receive a comped night at the Southpoint one time.
* I am currently the "Tech Chair" and worked to get the outdated website and forums upgraded
* I am the chief admin/moderator of the CCA forums. I mainly weed out spammers/scammers.
* I am currently a member of the Membership Growth & Retention Committee and have contributed to a great many line items on our agenda.
* I am endeavoring to hold an annual Collectibles show in Reno Nevada this Spring, with the intention of cross-pollinating collectors of all types which will hopefully result in more CCA members and interest in casino collectibles.
If/when I'm nominated, I'll gladly be open to an online debate with any other Presidential candidates. I'm also open to a Q&A with club members, whether on a live stream or just responding to questions posed by club members online.
What I will NOT do is engage in any negative attacks on my opponents, nor will I tolerate such activity from my supporters. I hope you will all agree to abide by this during the upcoming election cycle and beyond.
While I don't personally have an issue with it, to avoid any potential perception of a conflict of interest, I will not actively engage in selling of items, nor have a dealer table at the CCA convention.
Thanks for reading this far.
