Questions to the Board about the election

As we prepare for the upcoming election season (everyone girding their loins? rofl ) I have questions for the Board (and yes I am posting here and on the official message board):

- Have there been specific duties defined for the Member at Large positions? I asked this last years and there hadn't (I got some 'hopes' and 'I imagine' but nothing concrete). If not, could the Board give examples of what the 2 positions have done since March (when the positions when found to be unopposed) or June (when people officially installed)? That way nominators and voters could understand what the positions entail.

- In the last election there was quite a bit of discussion around the counting of votes. Last year Doug was nice enough to go back to some members and explain why their ballot was invalid (because they could not follow the simple instructions). I am presuming nothing has changed with instructions/process (ie: write your member number on the outside envelope, put the ballot inside).

My question: what is the official stance of the Board around invalid ballots? Will the election chairman still need to contact the members who cannot follow the same simple instructions that have been in place for years? Or will invalid ballots be rejected as they have always been?
