I remember going there back in 1978 when it was the MGM Grand Reno. I believe at that time, the biggest hotel casino. And having my picture taken with MGM Lion (which in thinking back, looked awfully doped up) and with lion cubs after their show.

I don't recall staying there when it became Bally's Reno, but did stay there when it changed to the Reno Hilton a number of times. My son was a wrestler in high school and we always drove there for wrestling during December & April (at the Livestock Event Center). Only stayed once since it became GSR. Then son went to college and wrestling was in downtown Reno, next to Eldorado, so stopped staying there altogether.

I recall it was a nice place to stay, eat and gamble at.
