My 3 choices (not in any order)
Peppermill -- self-contained amenities, lots of purple & pink neon in places (but tasteful).

Atlantis -- just a mile from Peppermill, nice amenities too. I've even walked it (about 15 minute walk) for exercise on a nice day.
Both of these are south of downtown, but right on Virginia St.

Grand Sierra Resort -- near the airport, but stands by itself. You need to drive to get to other places, but freeway is right there.

If you do want the downtown experience, right at the Reno arch, the best 2 IMO are Eldorado or Silver Legacy. But it's not the attraction it once was.

I suggest you pull up the webpages for each and compare for what's important to you.
