First off, we did spend time at the resale shops around town, which seems odd. Who goes to Las Vegas to visit Goodwill? But the little shops are fun also. I'll leave the chips part to people who live there and know. I did find chips in Reno, but they were over priced.
Suggestion and this is a broken record? Valley of Fire state park, which is a nice drive and not terribly far. Moapa, but the address is Overton. https://parks.nv.gov/parks/valley-of-fire artifacts, nature, hiking. $15 per vehicle per day, non-resident.
On the way home, take the slightly longer way back to I-15 and see Overton, NV. The Lost City Museum = a history museum. https://www.lostcitymuseum.org/about-the-museum/ started to host the local artifacts, and those that would be covered when Lake Mead was created.
Red Rock Canyon scenic loop. Self drive. 17 miles from the Las Vegas strip is Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Free if you have a national parks pass. AKA Golden Seniors pass. https://inspiredroutes.com/red-rock-canyon-scenic-drive/ bring extra supplies if you are going hiking, services are limited. Entry time reservations may be needed, but that's just to limit how many people are in the area, at one time.
These are best Oct to May, when it's not as hot.
