I had to pause a moment when I saw the Pacific Dining Car logo. Yes, open since the 1920's in/near downtown LA. Made up of vintage rail cars linked together. A high end restaurant; in its day the Hollywood stars, etc. would go there sometimes. A special occasion, like the Brown Derby in its day. I've eaten there a couple of times & it was great!

Alas, that area of downtown LA has been encroached upon with some homeless encampments. About 3 months ago, a fire started in the adjacent camp and spread to the restaurant. Severe damage. Very unlikely/ impossible that they would reopen in the same location. Perhaps the long-time family owners may open at another location, but the vintage ambie*ce is gone.

BTW, the ambie*ce word is not spelled out, because it thinks I'm posting about the drug. It says it's a "naughty word". Who knew?
