Are there any books out there about the casino collectibles and history of Cuba? I'm speaking of the 1959 & prior time period before Castro took over and closed the casinos.
A few days ago, I was perusing the ChipGuide re chips, dice, postcards, etc. from some of the exotic places like the Tropicana & elsewhere in Cuba. I even wrote a post about it over on the CCA message board.
Anyway, one of my favorite casino history compilations is the "Noir Afloat" book about the offshore Southern California gambling ships of the 1930's and '40's. Great reading/well researched/lots of great pics of casino memorabilia.
If a similar book exists about the Cuba gambling scene, I would be a buyer. A story that needs telling for sure!
Back on "Noir Afloat", it's generally available at bookstores, etc. if you want a great read.
