Ha, ha, I was there also, Charles, about 10 years ago. I stayed at that hotel, and the casino was so empty that for two days I just walked in and out of there,, “casing the place”. You bought the chips at the cashiers cage, which was good, but all they gave you was plaques, which you exchanged for chips at the tables. But the place was so dead empty every time I went, that there was no question that one had to play to harvest any chips. The chips were not only from another casino, but the denominations were all mixed up, like the 12.50 chip was worth $25, and a chip that said 1000 was a dollar. I had my son with me that trip, so we set up an operation whereby we entered the casino at different times and pretended not to know one another. That way we could both ask for change and leave separately. At one point, while the dealer was shuffling, I got up and said I was going to play a few spiins of roulette, the only other table open. I came back in five minutes, sailing I was broke, and went to buy more chips. Each time I bought the plaques, I learned more about what denominations they had, and fashioned my buy in to acquire what I wanted. Half the plaques went in my pocket and half went to the game.My son left before me, signaling that he had everything he was assigned to get. Some time after, I pretended to go broke and left. Couldn’t find my son, but when I got to our room, and opened the room safe, it was already full of chips.
