There was once a movie about that, ‘The Cooler’. Actor Bill Macy had the title role and since he was thought to be a jinx, his only job in the casino was to stand next to a hot shooter and “cool him off”. Fun movie, but seems laughable by today’s standards. The casino owner, played by Alec Baldwin, has a great speech in it, however, decrying the modern Vegas as opposed to the old days, that made me stand up and applaud in the movie theatre.
