The T-K in TK Specialty ?

T-K Specialty is currently a brand of dice produced by GPI (along with their Paulson brand dice). But they originated in Kansas City and later moved to Reno (before being acquired by Paulson or its owners). They also made (or had made) the Horseshoe mold chips used in various casinos+.

My question: What does the T-K stand for? Original owners names? Something else? Just curious.

Bonus question -- It used to be (maybe still is?) that old-time casino operators were a bit superstitious about the dice on their craps tables. If one brand got too "hot", they would substitute another brand or type to cool off the hot table... so they always purchased dice from at least 2 sources: T-K, Bud Jones, Midwest "Certified Perfects", other makers too. Do the current corporate-type mega-owners still do the 2-source "superstition" purchasing, or is that passe' now?
