Two subjects here: 1. Correcting the record from my comments on prior Reno chip shows; and 2. Interesting article on Counterfeit Chips...
1. In my earlier exchange, Allan Anderson was correct about the 2002 Reno chip show being at Circus Circus-Reno, and not elsewhere, as I originally thought. Looking back at the Fall 2002 edition of the club magazine, page 26, I see the coverage, including the fact that I WAS there!
A year later, there was another Reno chip show, this time at the Golden Phoenix, and sponsored by Jim Munding (Casinorama organizer at that time) and others. Some photos in the Fall 2003 edition page 114.
And I think there were a few other Reno (and one Tahoe) chip shows in the past, too. Bottom line, Reno's a good place for a chip show, and I look forward to Barry's show in May 2025.

2. About the current discussion on counterfeit chips and such: In my exploration into back issues, the Fall 2002 edition featured the cover article, titled "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" by Howard Herz. An excellent 11-page article, with illustrations, about a subject that's still with us today.
If you're interested in the subject, it's a good foundation. Click on the link above then click on the Fall 2002 issue, page 30.
