I absolutely remember. As I said, because of the way I got to London that trip, I can confirm that it was July, 1982. There was a heat wave going on in London and the Queen was asking people to check on their elderly relatives. I changed USD in the Sportsman Casino, and received nothing but jetons in exchange. Played the rest, but couldn’t bring myself to use this one. As I became a regular visitor to London after that, I learned that I could obtain plaques from the UK casinos by simply bringing a foreign currency with me when I visited. As recently as two years ago, I used that same plan at the Hippodrome and Genting Chinatown. It still works.
