Reno sounds like a fun Idea! A bit more laid back and such. I think it's great that you considered the other shows.
To me, Super Bowl is why CasinoRama died. Thats an all-consuming weekend filled with football events and expensive rooms and full restaurants and definitely harder and harder to get around the city. I agree to the fact that it's hard for many in this hobby to come to Vegas multiple times in a year considering that it's not the home of reasonable prices anymore, however Reno is overlooked anymore these days and a great choice. I don't remember the days when Reno was the place to go and Vegas was a second thought but love the history there!!
Depending on timing and me not getting crushed in Vegas in March I'd be interested in a table at your Reno Show for sure!
I've been exploring a Chicago show, but Timing is key now that the show field is popping off with shows and difficult timing. I guess I have to explore how many times dealers are willing to travel in a year. I know some chip lovers will compare coin and card shows and their frequency but our hobby is much smaller by comparison and it seems the show market in regard to chips could just get spread out making all too frequent shows simply smaller.
Love the concept that both you and Jerry landed at with "All things Collectable" vs a chip show as you widen the audience making success easier! The fact that saying "show" also helps with folks knowing it's not a "Convention" which typically has seminars, speakers and educational events in the hobby like we do with the CCA National show which is truly more a "Convention" vs a show!
P.S. Barry: While I'm not a BOD member of the SNCCC I'd like to sincerely thank you for all the hard work and help you gave to make the SNCCC Show a success, without volunteers like you these shows wouldn't be so great as we know what a challenge it can be to put on a show much less all the great work that goes into the actual June Convention production!!
