I wanted to know if anyone can tell me about the silver dot that is seen on some of the Showboat $100 chips.

They are seen both in the chip that was disassembled and some that have been found with no inlays at all.

They are for sure NOT weights because removal shows they are very thin. They feel slightly more substantial than foil but as very very light.

Could they have been some early anti-counterfeiting device from Paulson? Something that would show up on an x-ray. Maybe a pre-RFID device that could be detected with the right equipment?

And do people know if they are on unquestioned Showboat $100 chips? In other unquestioned Paulson chips?
