John, you hit the nail right on the head. It's all about the hunt. I don't mind striking out because that's life. But when a score comes along it is sweet.

My best fun score and I didn't know it right off. I used to drive four hours each way to help my mother and work on her property rentals. I would stop at Flying J gas station to fuel up before I would get to Los Angeles as fuel was higher there. I paid cash for a fill up and get a back of jerky. Got my change and just put that in my pocket. When I finally got to LA and my day was done as I empty my pocket I look at my change as I always do. And I see a wheat cent. I'm happy at that. I turn it over and it's a 1909 S. I look closer and sure enough has the VDB on the reverse. I still have it today. Nice brown fine condition. I just wonder who's collection maybe was stolen to buy a bag of chips and soda, no way that was floating around for decades.
