I think there is more desirable information on the chip board than people think. In addition to email addresses, there are people's names and more importantly, passwords which half of us probably use for other websites besides the chipboard, like banks, brokerage accounts, utility accounts, etc. even though we shouldn't...
I have also noticed what Dan has mentioned and have long held the thought that it's just a matter of time before a bad actor takes over the chipboard and then gleans whatever information they consider to be desirable or uses the website for other malicious uses. As near as I can tell, unless David has made modifications to the code, the chipboard is running on 12 year old code. Working in the healthcare IT space has been an eyeopener, my employer programmatically fends off 800,000 malicious access attempts a day. IMHO, it's just a matter of time so at the bare minimums, I hope David has good offsite backups he can restore. Cheers!
