In the early 70s the Coin Castle had a lone 21 game located
in the center of the casino surrounded by a bunch of noisy
slots. Girls on the sidewalk would entice people with twofers
and cheap souvenirs to come in and play. At one time Herb
Pastor owned the place along with Sassy Sally’s, the Golden
Goose, and the Glitter Gulch strip club which was busted for
drugs and hookers. He was fined $130,000 for girls illegally
hustling tips from slot players at his casinos. He had a house
in Rancho Circle surrounded by a castle wall. I drove by it
every day on my way to work.
