Why do so many of the casinos have multiple chips, with different edge spots, for the same denomination? Examples:

King International had THREE different hat and cane $100 chips (plus a fourth baccarat $100 chip)
Ponce de Leon had THREE 1-unit red chips
Even plastic chips got in on this, Ramada San Juan has four or five different $5 chips
