But what about No Cash on the Barrelhead?!

Incidentally, the expression "Cash on the Barrelhead" came from auctions held a long time ago. The auctioneer, often somewhat shady, would conduct the sale with a barrel in front of him, and when the sale was "called," the winning bidder had to run up and drop actual cash (gold coins always cheerfully accepted) on the top of the barrel. Sold!!!!
