I used to have some nice collectible Rainbow Club 10 cent fracs. In my odds & ends, I found some chips that look suspiciously similar to the Rainbows. Same color/mold, signature filled in THCs with black marker. However, they were missing the "Rainbow Club" stamp. Looking closer to each chip, the stamp in the middle was scratched/buffed out. On one chip, you can see part of the original Rainbow Club stamp, confirming they were originally from the casino.

Why would someone deface these chips like this?

Does this completely devalue these chips or might they still be of interest?
