As beautiful as they are, these are "Fantasy Chips". There was a casino in Puerto Plata, Dom Rep which was ready to open, The Palmas Club Hotel & Casino. The chips were ordered, the samples were sent, approved and sent back to the manufacturer and soon after the official chips of the Casino arrived (about 30,000 I think). A beautiful set which read "Palmas Club Casino". Due to unknown reasons the casino, just before opening, closed and continued to be closed. These chips had been approved and received by the owners. The chips were purchased in its totality by one person and then another. This other individual, a very nice guy, also acquired the right to the design (from ASM, whom I believe was the new owner). He sold the majority of the chips in very large amounts, mostly to poker players and left a portion to sell to the chip collectors.
He then used his rights to the design and created a "Fantasy" set, using the design but not using the identical design as the originals in chips of equal denominations. These Fantasy chips were as beautiful as the real ones and in some even prettier. To make sure there was no confusion he put on them "Palmas Club" without the word "Casino" since these chips were not from a casino. Please be familiar as the Fantasy tend to show up as the real one, like today. I emailed the seller, whom I do not know, and asked him to contact me before I used the word Fraud in ebay.I do not know if this individual selling these chips has anything to do with the original creators of the Fantasy chips. The creator of these chips appeared to be a very honest person, and so may be this seller who could just be confused. Do not want to accuse anyone without proof.
