Perfect reason why to buy TCR12 and not the TCR11

advertised in the previous thread grin

This is a perfect example of why all collectors should always have the most up to date guides.

Doug Saito's auction catalog for the Monday before the convention lists some Royal Inn, Las Vegas chips, some which were listed in TCR11 and another which was previously unknown. If you look at Doug's update with current bids, you will see that three of those listings have been withdrawn from the auction as of yesterday, as a result of information we provided him with two days ago. The chips in question were in fact manufactured 15 years after the real casino issue, and sold to someone in CA as a home set.

Listings like this are being updated to reflect information from manufacturers records that the authors have accumulated over the years, which wasnt available to the previous authors. Hundreds if not thousands of similar listings have either been removed from or added to TCR and we will continue to make future changes until we are happy with every record listed.

If you had turned up at Doug's auction and paid $1,000 for the $1 Royal Inn (not an unreasonable likely outcome) and then found out from someone else that the chip was no longer listed in TCR, you probably wouldnt have been too happy.
