You did ask the right question. If either the author of a note posted on the Prodigy BB system or Prodigy itself wanted to protect their online publication on that BB, it is indeed copyrighted. Anyone wishing to reproduce such a note should first contact the author. If you receive permission from the author to reproduce the note, that would release Prodigy from any say in the matter unless the author and the system had contractual agreements concerning the article.
