Yes, I agree that the horse and rider chips and plain chips are pretty much worthless to the chip collector.

Still I wouldn't mind having a 300 piece set of horse and rider for home play. something about 50 - 70 year old chips are fun to play with. I have a much smaller "monkeying around set" that I used for family games.
