I'm not really sure what your complaining about. You don't object to Cleveland signing David Justice to a large contract, you only object when David Justice is traded to the Yankees and the Yankees pay the same amount of money for him as did Cleveland. NY is buying the World Series because they pay the contract signed by Cleveland.

But I guess its unfair that some teams spend more money than others. Of course its unfair that some players are faster than others, or can throw harder, or can hit better. So I propose that we handicap the better players. Faster players could be forced to carry weights. Better hitters could be made to wear glasses that distort their vision. Pedro Martinez should have to pitch from second base. But then everyone will be equal and life will be fair. And I'm sure you'll want to go out and watch them play.
