Do you think the Indians would have GIVEN the Yankees Justice for Ledee if it wasn't ALL about money?

Or the Reds would have given you Neagle for a bunch of minor leaguers if they could have afford his salary?

Do you think the Indians would let Manny go this Fall if they had the $112 Million payroll the Yankees have, soon to be pushing $150 Million when they get done signing Manny.

The Indians are only 2-3 players away from a World Series Team, but they need that extra $30-40 Million the Yankees have to sign those players and they don't have that money and never will.

I'm afraid baseball is headed for another strike in 2002 when I think the collective agreement is up again. Baseball HAS to change and I don't think it will without another strike.

UNTIL something changes, the Yankees will continue to plug their NEEDS each year with players other teams can NOT afford to keep. I think any of us could GM that team and make it a winner.

AND THEY WILL CONTINUE TO BUY MORE WORLD SERIES RINGS!!!!
