Re: Table Limits Revisited
In Response To: Table Limits Revisited ()

Keith,
Based on your question about line bets and odds, yes you are correct that you could have $2K w/$4K odds and come bets w/odds of the same amount, in most places in Vegas with a $2K max. Most casinos in Vegas have now gone to 3x, 4x and 5x odds on the dice table. Some of the casinos will limit the odds bet though. Example: You have $2K on the line and the point is 6 or 8, the Flamingo will allow you to take only $5000 behind the line, instead of $10,000. This is even though they now have 3,4 & 5 times odds. Most of the bigger houses in town Venetian, Bellagio, Mirage will fade the action all the way on the odds.

The answer to the question about the hard 4 is NO, you can't bet the table maximum. All the prop bets (the bets in the center of the layout) have much smaller limits due to the payoffs. This will vary from joint to joint, but where there is a $2000 max line bet, the hardways may have a $500 limit, craps or eleven may be $100-$300. JUst remember, most casinos don't gamble anymore, they like being in the "gaming" business. Just look at the limits in the sports books these days on sides and totals. There are few if any true gamblers on the other side of the table anymore. Mr. Binion will still miss you!!

Hope this helps.
