Soooo...if the ship was closed down August 1, 1939, and the LV SS Rex didn't open until 3-3-1945, how likely is it that Cornero could get the light fixture? It was during the war years...the ship might have been refitted for military use...would the light fixture have been removed? The ship might have been melted down for metal to manufacture military equipment...would the light fixture have been removed? If the light fixture was removed, might it have stayed more-or-less intact, to be rescued and reused by Cornero 5 1/2 years later?
