Re: Old Poker Chip Question?

Do you think someone could engrave designs in the soft clay on the early poker chips?

Is it possible to engrave a finished solid chip?

Your picture certainly raises some questions, but I find it hard to believe that even in the old days of 10c an hour labor someone was engraving poker chips one at a time to make set of several hundred. I know, the scrimshanders on the whaling boats did it to ivory, but still...

I'm not disputing the every-one different possibility, but would like to know more about how it was done.

What do you think Robert?
