I don't think that Clemens intentionally threw the bat at Piazza.... obviously the umps didn't think so either. Pizza hits a foul ball that goes into the dugout and runs down the basepath toward first base .... Clemens didn't expect to see him there and was merely "groundskeeping" by getting rid of Piazza's broken bat litter by throwing it towards the on-deck circle. Hey Yankee haters... face it.
