did you realize that those companies do more than make gasoline?

There are numerous byproducts of refining and many of them add profit.

I dont have a problem with a company making money, even a LOT of it. That used to be called the American Dream.

Companies like Exxon Mobile have both upstream and downstream functions and do happen to employ tens of thousands of Americans (And hundreds of thousands in the secondary markets).

All I was pointing out that next time someone wants to forward an email to "Boycot" Chervron because they think gas prices are too high, they should remember who is making 6% and who is making 15%.
