Carol & I got married in Reno in July of 1963. We lived in Pollock Pines - it was only about a 45 minute drive to South Shore. It was easy to drive up for the dinner show at Harrah's. The price was reasonable and they had some great shows. We moved to LA late that fall and then could only go to Tahoe when we went up to visit Carol's folks. I sure miss the inexpensive meals and the real nickel slots - you could have a good time for a few bucks. Now days even the penny slots have to be played for about $1 a spin.
Thanks for posting these - reminds us of what a great area Northern Nevada was in those days.
