This route had a Pontoon Bridge Linking Prarie du Chien, Wisconsin and McGregor/Marquette, Iowa.
Only 3 Pontoon Bridges were ever Built.
Prarie du Chien/McGregor, Marquette, Iowa Across the Mississippi river

Using a pile full of work the Height of the Bridge deck was maintained 17 inches above the static Deck Height of the Bridge. So that the weight of the Train would Level the floating Bridge deck with the Static Bridge Deck of the Approach's

With the Abandonment of Passenger service Jan. 5th 1961 the Pontoon Bridge was no longer needed.
The Last train to use the Pontoon Bridge at McGregor/Prarie du Chein was operated on Oct 31st 1961
