Now that's funny! You didn't get the first joke, and you didn't get the second one either. The second joke included an implication. That's not name calling, nor was it a statement that you are in fact homosexual.
"I don't need somebody threatening me behind the anonymous veil of a computer over his own bad attempt at humor."
I have no way of knowing what Jim might have written in a personal email, but it surely wouldn't have been anonymous as you claim. Knowing Jim for as long as I have, I feel safe in saying that your perception of a threat is misguided. If a physical confrontation was what Jim wanted to convey, he wouldn't mince words. That doesn't appear to be the case. Come to the convention and meet him. Have a couple beers at the bar and have a face-to-face discussion about your disagreements. That really does happen quite frequently at the convention. Nobody is disallowed from talking about the things that face us all in everyday life. Those differences in opinion are what make us all human. Most folks have strong opinions about things. I've met folks in this hobby who have diametrically opposite views from myself on some matters, yet some of them are among what I consider to be very close friends. I think you can find that too, if you will let it happen.
