After reading the article, if she lined up the jackpot symbols perhaps she is entitled to the $215,000 jackpot however $42 million in itself doesn't sound right. I've never read of a jackpot this high on a slot machine.

I think every slot machine has a disclaimer posted on it saying a malfunction voids all plays.

I think the issue here could very well be did the machine display an incorrect payout amount or did the the payout symbols occur as a result of a malfunction.

Frankly, I don't recall ever reading of an instance where the ruling went in favor of the player
