I really wish the average person in this country has/had either been a business owner at some point in their lifetime, or at least have/had first hand knowledge of the economics involved in running a small business by handling the bookkeeping responsibilities of a small business. I've actually employed people in more than one business venture. I've actually paid people more than I paid myself because those people proved to be very valuable to me and my businesses. Every time the government imposes a new fee or tax on business owners for every person that they employ that funds some program for people unwilling to work for their own living, it hinders the business owner from treating their employees like the owner thinks they deserve. It cuts down on the business owners' ability to hire and train new employees. It kills real jobs! That forces the closure of real retail stores. That causes retail property owners lost revenue due to vacant rental property. It just doesn't work, and it hurts us all in the long run.
