NCR - The things we do to please our wives! grin

Time for a "Tim needs to share" story grin

So, one day my wife walks in the door from a business trip to Queensland. (my wife is the Operations Manager for South Asstralia's biggest new home builder) and says to me....."It's time we renovated the back yard"

Now being the obliging husband that I am and not one to do things by half measures, I got to work designing the space, getting quotes, booking contractors & very quickly working out how much was invloved in tearing up the entire outdoor area & redoing it to what the lovely wife wanted.

Well, to cut a very long story short, well down to a few dozen photos and some whitty captions, here's what we achieved with $180K & 4months. We reckon it came up pretty well!!!

FIRST - SOME "BEFORE IT ALL STARTED" PICS
As you can see it was more than a little tired & desperately needed some TLC

  • Photo #1 & #2 - Looking Out from the back of the house
  • Photo #3 - Looking from the back fence to the back of the house
  • Photo #4 & #5 - Looking down the side of the house (entertaining area...tongue firmly planted in cheek!)
  • Pic #6 - Looking back up the side

NEXT - SOME "OMG, WHAT THE HELL HAVE I DONE!" PICS
At this stage you start to think that maybe this wasn't such a great idea!

  • Photo #1-6 - When Bobcats ATTACK!!

FOLLOWED BY SOME - "OK, MAYBE THINGS ARE NOT AS BAD AS I THOUGHT" PICS
Here's where we started to see the potential that what we had designed on paper might actually look OK in real life.

  • Photo #1, #2 & #3 - The new pergola starting to take shape
  • Photo #4, #5 & #6 - A muddy hole slowly progressing into an ugly grey hole

AND NEXT - SOME "YES HONEY, IT IS GOING TO BE FINISHED SOON...LOOK!" PICS
Walls, soil & paint start to add some exceitement.

  • Photo #1-#3 - How many landscapers does it take to finish a back yard renovation?

AND FINALLY - SOME "NOW THAT'S WHAT I"M TALKIN' ABOUT!!!!" PICS
After what seemed like forever, the brief from my lovely wife had been fufilled. I'm a little stoked to say the least grin

  • Photo #1-#12 - The finished product!!! Photos taken today.
