Tammy, you are correct they put a scannig cloning software on front of gas pumps even ATM's, can remove in minutes, so only keep these up for a sort time maybe at night, and remove. I also was told that any place you eat at, they can take your card and scan in a hand held 2in. x 1in unit that gets all info. in 1-2 seconds. Also, they hack into retail stores main computer, that stores all CC transactions and get everything they need by the thousands some stores are anti hack proof, but not all, and sell the info. They can put any name on CC and show a picture ID and use the card. (both card and D/L are fake) All they need is numeric data from the Mag. stripe. (no alph is in the strip) Big business, getting worse daily. Hard to control. and catch. Casinos are being hit big time in cash advance at the machine, then cage checks fake CC & ID, and gives cash. Billions are being lost in US yearly. The fraud officer said, see those big million homes up in the hills, full of white collar crime guys, we can't prove. He said, never use your CC on the internet, phone, or let the card leave your sight. But, you are still not safe from the hackers. Also, check your CC daily on line to see any activity that is not yours, and contact CC fraud dept. right away. Good news you dan't have to pay for fraud, and a new cards takes 10 days and a hassle. I have my card on file w/ airlines ect. must now change, probably not a good idea to have the card on file anywhere.
