They applied to emigrate to the United States. They had to show that they had a job waiting, a place to live and a sponsor.
My father who was a college graduate, a man who spoke 11 languages fluently took a job as a building superintendent hauling garbage, cleaning floors and fixing leaky sinks. BECAUSE he didn't have command of the language
However he learned the language became a citizen never collected a dime in any entitlement program, never got a dime in welfare, never collected a day's worth of unemployment.
My brother too learned the language went to Columbia graduated and got his Phd. from the University of Wyoming in Geology and spent the rest of his life teaching.
I guess I'm pretty much describing the average immigrant of today right? looking to give rather than take.
Perhaps my parents, they were the fools.
Yeah, I'm tolerant I have to put up with this on a daily basis but sometimes we all snap when they have people in positions the have no business being in.
I have no problem with immigrants, I too am one but I wouldn't go into a field involving communicating with the public if I don't have the ability to do so
