Re: A question for Flamingo & Bugsy Siegel experts

This is the first I have heard about the casino or hotel being "Pink Flamingo". I believe he called Virginia Hill his pink flamingo. Maybe your fiction piece could have a picture of her walking a real Flamingo as a pet.

"holy grail" is the rumored $100 white smooth mold 1st issue. This chip, after the mention of it in my previous books, later was reported by Doug Boyd who said his uncle mailed him 2 of them. When I flew to Arizona to see them, they were locked up, a key was lost or some story. Later a reported Grand Opening of The Flamingo chip which I think I was told was dated so either 1946 or Dec. 26, 46. 2 ladies were flown in for the opening. Each took a souvenir chip home. One lady I talked to believe she had this chip still- somewhere. Use your imagination as both of these rumors that have abound for about 15 years & are probably just that....

Fabulous. Off hand dont recall what time period they started that logo. I think early 50's. Chips all say The Flamingo, theres no old "fabulous" chip. From looking at postcards and matchbooks one can probably figure pretty well what year they used this logo. No time to dig into postcards now but when you need more help let me know....

thats right closed Jan 16 as per best of my knowledge and reported in my book, reopened after he was shot in the eye ball, in March.

Good luck on your piece and I want to read it when finished.
